COMPANIONSHIP SERVICES
Some elderly in our Dutch community live alone and feel very lonesome. Contact from time to time with someone who speaks their native language and with whom they can have a conversation and reminisce, would enlighten their day and make them feel so much happier. It makes life alone so much more bearable. A few hours of contact per week, or month gives something positive to look forward to.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
From information available in its database, nesso will try to coordinate transportation services with volunteers to make it possible for shut-ins to participate in Dutch cultural and community events, or assist you in leaving your home which otherwise would not be possible.

Shopping
o nesso will not be able to assist in daily grocery shopping, and this service can only be offered to assist in transportation to purchase mayor appliances, clothing and other articles of an infrequent nature. Remember, nesso depends on the availability of volunteers in your area.
Church
o As under shopping, to assist in getting you to and from church services depends entirely on the availability of volunteers. It is suggested that request only be made for major religious services, funeral services for close friends etc.
Dutch community events
o Such as the annual Dutch Christmas Celebration, the nesso annual membership meeting in the Spring, Queen's Birthday celebration, and events organized by the various Dutch clubs in the nesso service area.
HANDYMAN SERVICES
Minor repairs. A handyman would donate his/her time or service, and the recipient would pay for material and a donation to nesso.
